Rating: - Does the Job but Bulky
I bought this protective sheath for my new Victorinox Ceramic 7" Santoku kitchen knife. Being ceramic, I figured this knife needs all the protection I can give it.
The BladeSafe seems to do the job rather well although it is a bit bulky and a bit tricky to open. I like the little rubber pads inside that securely hold the blade in place. Really, there's not a lot that can be said about this item, but it is a very functional kitchen device.
Rating: - Great for added child proofing, wish Amazon sold the smaller sizes
We bought this for our large chef's knife, and it does the job. Protects the knife and adds an extra layer of protection for the children. I do wish that Amazon sold the smaller sizes as well.

It protects the edge, keeping it sharp and protects your hands and fingers if you are likely to fumble around looking for your favorite knife among a pile of others.
Rating: - Victorinox Cutlery BladeSafe for 6"-8" Knife Blades
This Victorinox Cutlery BladeSafe fits securely over the 8" Victorinox Chef's Knife. It serves as a important protector when stored in a drawer. I would recommend purchasing this if you have the Chef's Knife or are considering purchasing the knife. It is heavy duty plastic and dishwasher safe.

I don't have a knife block or anything, so my only option is to keep my knife in a drawer in my kitchen and risk cutting my fingers off at any given moment. (The kitchen is a dangerous place)
After I got this, I resumed reaching recklessly into kitchen drawers, ... Read More
